Woolly Mammoth Skeleton Unearthed in Siberia

Reindeer herders in Moscow have stumbled upon well-preserved bones that experts say belonged to a woolly mammoth.

After the fragments were discovered earlier this week in Siberia’s Pechevalavato Lake, scientists began digging — and have since unearthed the mammoth’s skull, lower jaw, several ribs and a foot fragment, they say.

Paleontologists say it will take “significant time” to recover and assemble the entire skeleton.
