Evacuations Ordered As “Explosive” Lake Hughes Brush Fire Spreads To 10,000 Acres

It’s going from bad to worse in California as a 10,000-acre fire continues to burn.

Firefighters were trying to contain a brush fire on Wednesday that quickly spread and scorched at least 10,000 acres near Lake Hughes in the Angeles National Forest.

Several homes are destroyed, but no injuries are reported so far.

People in about 100 homes are now under mandatory evacuation orders.

Water-dropping airplanes, helicopters, and 500 firefighters are helping.

Investigators still don’t know what caused the fire.
