If there’s a 12-year-old in your house, it would probably be a good idea to keep an eye on him. For the second time this week, a 12-year-old boy has been arrested for stealing a vehicle.
The most recent arrest occurred Thursday in Syracuse, New York. After officers were sent to investigate a residential burglary, they arrived to find a car speeding away from the home, according to a Syracuse Police Department report. A brief chase ended when the driver of the vehicle — who turned out to be a 12-year-old boy — crashed into a pole, police say. He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and criminal mischief, police say.
In an eerily similar incident on Monday, a 12-year-old boy in Atlantic City was arrested on auto theft charges following a high-speed chase. Like the one that occurred in Syracuse, the pursuit ended when the youth crashed into a pole.
