The iconic 9/11 “Tribute in Light” memorial in New York City has been canceled because of coronavirus concerns.
The yearly display features twin beams of light shooting up in the sky to honor victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Officials with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum said it takes a large crew to pull off the “Tribute in Light” and this year, the health risks ” were far too great.”
The museum has also canceled the in-person reading of the 9/11 victims at the annual Ground Zero ceremony.
Officials say they are working on a new plan in which buildings across the city will light up in blue colors on 9/11.
