(CHICAGO) — One Chicago Police Officer was killed and another critically injured in a Saturday night shooting in the 6300-block of South Bell Avenue.
It happened near South Bell Avenue and West 63rd Street in the West Englewood neighborhood around 9 P.M.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot addressed media outside of an area hospital after midnight saying, “Our officers are fearless in danger.” Lightfoot kept things brief saying, “Pray for our officers.”
Police say two men are in custody and one suspect who is a female is still at large. Officers say a handgun was recovered at the scene.
