(CHICAGO) — After another expressway shooting this morning the Governor is pledging more support.

The shooting happened on the inbound side of the Edens Expressway near Montrose Ave. Luckily no one was injured. Governor Pritzker was asked about the recent up-tick in expressway shootings at an unrelated event this morning.

“The state police is also adding additional patrols so that will be helpful,” Pritzker said. “There are cameras that are up and running. They’ve been installing them as we go.”

So far this year Illinois State Police have responded to 166 reported shootings on expressways in Cook County.
