(Berwyn, IL) — Police in Berwyn have issued a community alert for this weekend.
Officials say they have received intelligence that suggests a large gathering is being planned for this Saturday afternoon and evening in the area of the North Riverside Park Mall.
They are saying the gathering has the potential for public disturbances and acts of violence much like what happened this past weekend in Chicago.
Officials are asking the public to to avoid the area.
Berwyn police say they are working with other neighboring agencies to keep the community safe.
