Chicago’s airports will be busy over the Fourth of July holiday

Summer travel in full swing at O’Hare and Midway. Both airports expected to welcome 1.49 million passengers between Friday and Wednesday. Compared to last year passengers flying through Midway are up 2.4 percent and there is a slight decrease at O’Hare of 1.7 percent. Friday is expected to be the busiest travel day at O’Hare and Saturday at Midway. The heavy travel period comes as Chicago based United airlines is still trying to recover from a rough weather week at its major hubs.
