City Council to Vote on Top Cop

(CHICAGO) — The City of Chicago could have a new police superintendent by the end of the day.

All 50 Chicago alderman are expected to vote during a special city council meeting today to approve Chief Larry Snelling as the city’s next top cop.

On Friday the committee on police and fire unanimously approved Mayor Johnson’s choice.

Snelling has been with Chicago Police for three decades and is currently the chief of counter terrorism and is considered an expert on use of force and helped redesign the departments policy.
