(CHICAGO) — Oil prices remain high, yet prices at the pump continue to dip lower. Illinois gas prices continue to decline with state average falling 9 cents per gallon since last week.
The state average today is $3.80 per gallon of regular gas, 25 cents less than a month ago and 37 cents less than this year’s highest daily price of $4.17 per gallon (August 16).
“Gas prices are moving lower, even as the price of oil remains near 2023 highs,” said Molly Hart, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Now that the summer driving season is over, gasoline demand has declined, but gasoline production is stronger than a year ago.
