(Elwood, IL) — National Guard troops from Texas have arrived. Gov. JB Pritzker confirming Tuesday night that National Guard members from Texas have arrived at a facility in Elwood. Most of the troops apparently arrived on Monday night.
Pritzker saying Tuesday evening that the Illinois National Guard, which was also tapped by President Trump to protect federal agents and assets in Chicago, were still being “spun up.” He says the Texas troops have yet to hit the streets but have already been federalized.
Local officials say they received no heads up about the Texas guard members arrival.
