(CHICAGO) — As the National Weather Service continues to evaluate last week’s Thursday night storms, the agency has confirmed 17 tornadoes, two of which were EF-3 in strength. One was confirmed in Streator and the other in Kouts, IN.
Several people remain without power and storms on Saturday night into Sunday morning only added to the grief. Those storms hit the south and southwest suburbs particularly hard, knocking down trees and knocking out power.
Further information by the NWS could be released Monday.
