(CHICAGO) — The latest benefactor of Illinois’ sanctuary policies is an illegal immigrant and alleged Tren de Aragua member who was caught selling guns to an undercover ATF agent.
Despite being caught red-handed in a sting operation last year and being in the country illegally, Jose Vasquez Hernandez was allowed to walk free without serving any time in prison, after pleading guilty and receiving credit for time-served, while awaiting his trial.
For almost a month, the Venezuelan national and alleged gang member had been out on the streets after the state didn’t give the feds any kind of a heads up that he was being released.
On Wednesday, federal agents finally tracked down and arrested the 31-year old, who is now being sent back to Venezuela.
