(CHICAGO) — Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias has entered the crowded race for Chicago mayor. He made the announcement at the IBEW Hall Sunday.
Giannoulias, who also had served as State Treasurer before making a failed U.S. Senate run, is now the 10th declared candidate in the February race. The crowded field will likely lead to a runoff election.
Mayor Brandon Johnson has yet to announce a re-election campaign.
