(CHICAGO) — After Tuesday’s storm’s caused massive damage in the south suburbs, local politicians have called for a renewed effort to ask for federal help. Gov. JB Pritzker toured some of the storm damage Friday but did not say much about federal help and instead criticized the Trump administration.
On Friday, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun declared a disaster emergency for NW Indiana, which also saw a lot of damage from last week’s storms. On Saturday, President Donald Trump approved a Presidential Emergency Declaration.
As of Monday morning, NIPSCO reports there are still 103,000 customers without power.
