You may be able to help spread some holiday cheer.
The city of Chicago is searching for this year’s Christmas tree.
You can apply if you have a tree at least 45 feet tall and it’s located within 50 miles of Chicago.
It has to be sturdy like a fir or spruce, so no pine trees.
You have to apply by October 23.
Tree submissions must be emailed to dcase@cityofchicago.org and include:
-The owner’s name, address, phone number and email address.
-A brief description explaining why the tree should become Chicago’s official Christmas Tree, including any history or background that makes the tree special.
-At least two photographs of the tree, including one photograph from afar and one close-up.
And then the big tree lighting is Friday, November 20 in Millennium Park.
The ceremony starts at 6 p.m.
