(GARY, Ind.) Authorities are trying to identify a body found in a wooded area in northwest Indiana on Wednesday evening.
Lake County, Ind., coroner’s investigators were called about 5:20 p.m. after the male body was found in the woods about half a mile north of the 2200 block of Fairbanks Street in Gary, according to a statement from the coroner’s office.
He was described as a white male with a reddish mustache and goatee, wearing medium-size black Adidas jogging pants with a white stripe and an extra-large black T-shirt with the words “Roc Boys” on the front.
The male had three tattoos: a moon with a top hat on his left shoulder, a smiley face on his right shoulder and the initials ABK on his left forearm, authorities said. He also had a tracheotomy scar on his neck.
Officials did not release a preliminary cause of death pending an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.
Gary police could not immediately be reached for comment.
