(LYONS) The Illinois Department of Transportation is set to close lanes along Illinois Route 171 in west suburban Lyons Monday for reconstruction of a bridge over 47th Street.
Due to the construction, the left lane in both the northbound and southbound directions of Route 171 over 47th Street Bridge will be closed for at least four months, according to a statement from IDOT.
Lane closures will then switch to the right lane in both directions later this summer. The project is expected to be complete by late October, IDOT said.
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time for trips through the area.
