(NAPERVILLE) A man was found dead Thursday afternoon on the grounds of the annual Ribfest in west suburban Naperville.
The man was found unresponsive about 2:48 p.m. in the carnival section of the festival, Naperville Police Sgt. Bill Davis said.
He was dead on the scene, and the DuPage County Coroner’s office has been notified, Davis said.
The man is an adult, but his exact age and further details of the incident were not being released as of Thursday afternoon, Davis said.
Thursday is the first day of the annual festival, which runs through Sunday at Knoch Park near Naperville Central High School, according to the festival’s website. The event features a barbecue competition, live music and a section of carnival rides.
