(CHICAGO) City officials on Thursday will announce a major investment to upgrade concessions, parking and other facilities at Midway Airport.
The project will be the biggest investment at the Southwest Side airport in nearly a decade, according to a statement from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office.
Plans for improvements include expanded concession facilities, security checkpoints and parking options — all of which have been the target of concerns from business travelers and tourists.
Officials expect the project to create 1,700 construction and concession jobs.
