(CHICAGO) Thursday was Wall Street’s worst performance in a year and a half. The Dow fell and just kept going until it closed down almost 360-points.
“The fear index is the highest level we’ve seen in six weeks,” said Phil Flynn, Senior Market Analyst at Price Futures Group in Chicago.
There was heavy selling by technical traders and Flynn tells WLS, “We got a report on leading economic indicators that seemed to suggest that looking forward the economy doesn’t look that bright and there is a lot of fear that the situation that we’re seeing in China could start to spread to other parts of the globe.”
While the Dow dropped 358-points, on Thursday, closing under 17,000, the NASDAQ fell 141-points and the S&P 500 was down 43.
