(AURORA) The City of Aurora is set to begin making a list of people described as “habitual drunkards”. The Aurora Beacon News reports it will be a list of people who are transported by the local police and fire departments six times or more in a 120 day period, for alcohol related infractions.
Aurora will distribute the list to local tavern and liquor store owners and expect them to refuse service to those listed.
Aurora city officials say the idea is based on one that’s currently in place in Madison, Wisconsin. The goal is to discourage public drunkenness in downtown Aurora.
