(GLEN ELLYN) More controversy involving the spending habits of the embattled President of the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.
The Chicago Tribune reports that C.O.D. President Robert Breuder spent thousands of dollars to transform a handicapped-accessible bathroom in the school’s fitness center, into a locker room to be used only by him, and a few top administrators.
This is after Breuder spent 24 million dollars to upgrade the fitness center. The newly elected College of DuPage board is trying to fire Breuder after extensive Tribune reporting on his free spending ways, including opening a high end campus restaurant, where he expensed hundreds of thousands of dollars on food and liquor, and having expensive outings at an exclusive hunt club.
Breuder, who is on paid administrative leave pending termination proceedings, declined to comment.
