Mayor Emanuel has lost a round in court, but is vowing to fight on. A judge has upheld the very lucrative deal the park district made with the Park Grill in Millennium Park despite the romance that was going on between two people on opposite sides when the deal was negotiated 12 years ago.
Rahm says his attitude about the sweetheart Park Grill deal remains the same as when he sued to break the deal.
“Taxpayers of the City of Chicago are getting the raw end of a raw deal and I was not going to stand for it and I won’t stand for it,” said Mayor Emanuel.
So, the city is planning an appeal.
“This administration will fight for taxpayers of the City of Chicago and we’re not gonna see the taxpayers of the City of Chicago – that’s what’s referred to sometimes as dumb money,” said the Mayor.
