(NILES) A man was shot early Wednesday morning following some type of dispute in north suburban Niles, police said.
Officers were called about 1:24 a.m. to a report of a person shot in the 9000 block of Churchill Circle, according to Nile police.
A 25-year-old man was found on the ground in the backyard of a home, suffering a single gunshot wound to the right calf and left ankle, a statement from police said.
The man was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in an unknown condition as police set up a perimeter around the area with assistance from an Evanston police canine unit.
The perimeter was opened about 1:55 a.m. after no shooter was found.
Police said the incident “appears to be a dispute between the victim and at least one subject, possibly two.:
They also said the incident was “isolated” and there “no threat to the community related to this incident.”
