
(NORTHFIELD) One person was seriously injured when a motorcycle hit a deer early Thursday on the Edens Expressway in north suburban Northfield, shutting down all southbound lanes.
The crash happened about 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-94 near Willow Road, according to Illinois State Police.
The motorcycle’s driver was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with serious injuries, Northfield Fire Department Assistant Chief Tom Burke told a reporter at the scene. The deer was killed in the crash.
All southbound lanes of the Edens remained closed as of 4:30 a.m. as officers continue to investigate the crash, state police said.
