(CHICAGO) The Chicago Cubs play game three of the National League Division Series at five-07 this afternoon, against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
Pitching ace Jake Arrieta (22-6) is on the mound against the Cardinals Michael Wacha (17-7). The Cubs evened the series at one game apiece after winning game two in St. Louis on Saturday, 6-3.
Manager Joe Maddon is excited about returning to Wrigley, where he hopes to go up two games to one in the best of five series. “To get back home, and be able to play in front of our fans is really a unique experience for me obviously and for a lot of our players. I can feel the excitement within the city. I feel really fortunate to be part of this moment”
If you want to go to the game and don’t have tickets, ticket broker Steve Buzil of Sit Close tickets told ABC 7 that prices are going up to a high of about 14 hundred dollars. Buzil says he has suddenly become very popular. “People I haven’t heard from in years and years are starting to call, like my new best friends again. Guys I went to grammar school with. Then you know, sometimes you give em those prices and they’re shell-shocked. They say ‘how about our friendship’. I say, ‘that went out the window. My daughter needs braces’”.
Standing room tickets start at 145 dollars on Stub Hub.
If the Cubs win, they could clinch the series on Tuesday at Wrigley Field. If necessary, game five will be played Thursday in St. Louis.
