(BARRINGTON) A person was struck by a Metra train Tuesday morning on the Union Pacific / Northwest Line in northwest suburban Barrington.
Inbound train No. 624, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:26 AM, struck a pedestrian in Barrington about 7:15 a.m., according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
As of 7:25 a.m., all trains were halted, Miller said. The duration of the delay was unknown.
The CTA will honor Metra tickets on the Blue Line from Rosemont to Chicago due to the incident, according to the transit agency.
Outbound train No. 605, scheduled to arrive in Barrington at 7:35 a.m., will turn at Barrington and make all station stops back into Chicago, Metra said. Passengers were urged to listen for announcements for the location of that train.
Details on the pedestrian were not immediately available.
