(CHICAGO) A decision on where to build the Obama Library is going to take more time.
There was an expectation that a decision between Washington Park and Jackson Park would come sooner than later, but the president’s pal Marty Nesbitt who heads up the Obama Foundation says it’ll be more like June.
“Well it’s not delayed,” Nesbitt said. “We had the idea that there might have been work completed early that would’ve made the decision happen sooner and easier but the fact is they are two really good sights, not a bad choice. So you got to keep digging deeper and deeper to figure out a rational to choose one over the other and we haven’t gotten to that point yet.”
Nesbitt also told the City Club that Obama Library will look for solutions to street violence plaguing Chicago, but he said it’s too early to say how.
