(CHICAGO) A 16-year-old Barrington student accused of bringing a gun to his high school has been charged as an adult.
Kyle Johnson was charged with unlawful use of a weapon for allegedly bringing a handgun and ammunition to the school. He was initially charged as a juvenile with six felonies.
A school faculty member saw a student with a gun Monday in a restroom, and the school was placed on campus-wide lockdown. Police arrived less than a minute later and searched the building and say they found Johnson with an unloaded handgun, ammunition and drugs.
Johnson’s bond was set at $75,000.
