(YORKVILLE) A southwest suburban man has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.
Henry Wojewski, 58, was charged with one count of possessing child pornography of a minor under 18; and seven counts of possessing child pornography of a minor under 13, all felonies, a statement from the attorney general’s office said.
“Child pornography is not a victimless crime,” Attorney General Lisa Madigan said in the statement. “Whenever an offender downloads or trades these horrific images, it perpetuates the sexual assault of children, causing further devastation to the victims. We will continue to be relentless in apprehending these offenders.”
Authorities arrested Wojewski after they found evidence of child pornography in his home in the 500 block of Yellowstone Lane in Yorkville, the statement said. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis’ office will prosecute the case.
Wojewski posted bond, which was set at $100,000, the statement said. His next court date has not yet been set.
