(FOX LAKE, IL) The widow of the Fox Lake police Lt. who committed suicide but told dispatch he had been shot while chasing three suspects, has been indicted.
Melodie Gliniewicz is charged with misusing charitable funds and money laundering.
Authorities say that Lt. Joe Gliniewiz embezzled money from a police youth group he headed-up and had been doing it over a span of seven years.
They say he carried out a “carefully planned suicide” out of fear that his criminal acts would be discovered.
