(CHICAGO) There is some local political reaction to today’s endorsement of Donald Trump by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) says Christie is going to have a lot of explaining to do.
“I mean, everything Donald Trump says is childish and that’s what it seemed like in this,” Kinzinger said. “I was surprised by Chris Christie. I mean, I think he’s jockeying for a position in the administration but now he’s going to have to explain Trumps support for the 9-11 truther stance that [George W.] Bush was responsible for 9-11, for his admiration of Vladimir Putin and for his lack of details on how to destroy ISIS. So I’m actually very surprised that he would get behind a guy that has absolutely has no detail on foreign policy and runs a campaign just on emotion and not on actual logic.”
There’s really no surprise in Kinzinger’s remarks as he is working on Marco Rubio’s Illinois campaign.
