(CHICAGO) U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), the number two Democrat in the Senate, has a word of caution for his party about Donald Trump.
The conventional wisdom says Democrats would love to see the Republicans nominate Trump because he’s zany.
But when WLS Political Reporter Bill Cameron asked Durbin if his fellow Democrats should underestimate Trump, he got this.
“Just because Trump has said these outrageous things, only maybe 150 times, is no indication of what he might be as the ultimate nominee,” Durbin said. “He could become a different person or try to become a different person before the election. So I don’t write him off. I take him very seriously.”
So don’t assume Trump can’t beat Hillary.
