(CHICAGO) The first building isn’t scheduled to come down until April, but the developer of the old Children’s Memorial Hospital says the demolition will likely lead to an increase in the number of rats as they are certain to leave their nests because of the demo work.
The developer says there is an abatement plan in place but it’s hard to predict how bad the problem will be until work begins.
Residents are being encouraged to contact the developer, McCaffery Interests, with any concerns.
