(CHICAGO) Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has spent part of Friday campaigning in Illinois.
Sanders addressed a crowd at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he addressed calls to raise the minimum wage.
Sanders told the crowd that as he traveled the country, folks told him repeatedly that they couldn’t make it on the current minimum wage.
He says a fair rate is $15 per hour.
Meanwhile, as Sanders takes part in a rally in Western Michigan, which holds primaries on March 8, his Chicago campaign office on the South Side will hold a “Labor for Bernie – Night of Action” campaign event.
