(CHICAGO) A man died early Saturday after he jumped into the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal on the Southwest Side, authorities said.
The man, whose age was not immediately known, was seen by Chicago Police officers jumping into the canal near 40th and Cicero. He was pulled from the water by Chicago Fire Department divers shortly after midnight Saturday, according to Fire Media Affairs.
He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he later died, according to fire media.
