(CHICAGO) Another day, and another round of name-calling in the Springfield budget impasse.
In this episode, Governor Rauner called in reporters to accuse Speaker Madigan of a dereliction of duty for adjourning the House for a month.
“Speaker Madigan should be in town right this very minute negotiating bipartisan compromise with real solutions. Right this minute, they should be here. The senate’s here. The senate’s working today. I’m here today. We could be negotiating bipartisan compromise – real solutions,” said Governor Bruce Rauner.
The House did pass some solutions, but Rauner calls them sham bills that Madigan knows he’ll veto, but play well for next week’s primary.
