(CHICAGO) More than 120 flights were canceled at Midway Airport due to rain and low visibility Sunday, including all Southwest Airlines flights until Monday morning.
The city’s Department of Aviation said it expected additional Midway cancelations in the morning due to the dense fog. Operations were normal at O’Hare as of 8:40 p.m., officials said.
All Southwest flights were canceled between 7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday, a total of about 50 flights, an airline spokeswoman said.
The dreary conditions had visibility down to about half a mile in the early evening as fog continued to roll in from Lake Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday’s forecast is similarly dark and drizzly, with a high of 50 degrees, forecasters said.
