(SPRINGFIELD, IL) Students waiting for MAP Grants are starting to see some money.
Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger on Thursday got out more than $160 million for MAP Grants. Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a bill Monday releasing the funds amid a budget stalemate between Rauner and state Democrats.
Many colleges and universities have been covering the MAP Grants but that has caused some financial hardships.
The MAP Grants will help some 125,000 students.
