A tow truck driver in North Carolina decided to refuse service to a woman because she is a Bernie Sanders supporter. He’s a Donald Trump fan. He said he couldn’t tow her car because she was “obviously a socialist” and advised her to “call the government” for a tow.
Boston-based startup app GetHuman has unveiled a new service that lets you to pay $5 to $25 to hire a “problem solver” who will call a company’s customer service line on your behalf to resolve issues. Prices vary depending on the company, but GetHuman offers to fight for your airline refund, deal with Facebook account issues and other customer service issues. Data out Friday from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows employers in the United States added 160,000 jobs last month, the smallest gain since September 2015. The BLS report also shows the unemployment rate steady at 5% for the second month in a row. Economists were anticipating 205,000 jobs would be added in April and for the unemployment rate to decline to 4.9%. A New York mom’s plea for a new car after unexpectedly giving birth to her daughter in the backseat of her Honda is going viral. Comedian Beth Newell’s Tweet has resulted in Honda’s Twitter feed being inundated with demands that they provide her with a free car, but so far it’s only resulted in an offer of having her car cleaned and perhaps the seats replaced.
