(CHICAGO) With the blessing of a legislative panel, the Illinois State Museum in Springfield reopens today, but there is a catch. The museum will start charging an admission fee of $5 per person.
Admission previously was free, and free admittance is still be extended to those under the age of 18, senior citizens and veterans.
A couple of other facilities are reopening today as well including the Research Collections Center in Springfield and the Dickson Mounds Museum in Fulton County.
