(CHICAGO) A man died Thursday evening after he was pulled from the waters of Lake Michigan near the 31st Street Beach on the South Side, police said.
Rescue crews responded about 8:30 p.m. for the swimmer in distress near the beach, according to Chicago Police.
The 32-year-old man was pulled from the water and taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
