(CLEVELAND) Donald Trump is officially the Republican Presidential Nominee.
After Pennsylvania deferred it’s vote to New York, it was Donald Trump Jr. who stepped up to the microphone here on the Republican National Convention floor, “It is my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top, in the delegate count, tonight with 89 delegates and another 6 for John Kasich. Congratulations, dad, we love you!” said Trump Jr.
Alaska contested the vote for its state and after a discussion between RNC Chair Reince Priebus, convention chair Paul Ryan, and others on stage, they announced that the rule would stand.
The delegate tally: Donald Trump 1,725 delegates, Ted Cruz 475, John Kasich with 120, and Marco Rubio 114.
Ben Carson, Jeb Bush and Rand Paul were all in the single digits.
