(CHICAGO) In front of a packed arena and amid thunderous applause, Thursday, Hillary Clinton formally accepted her party’s nomination for President.
A wide range of speakers hit the stage on the final night of this convention.
Former Reagan Administration official Doug Elmets says he’s voting Democrat for the first time, telling the crowd, that his late boss wanted a wall torn down not built. “I knew Ronald Reagan. I worked for Ronald Reagan. Donald Trump, you are no Ronald Reagan,” said Elmets.
Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm took a more jocular tone with the GOP nominee. “Donald, you’re so vein, you probably think this speech is about you. Don’t you?” said Granholm.
The big moment of the night was when Hillary Clinton took the stage, formally accepted the nomination, and told the crowd, “You heard some from Republicans and Independents who are supporting our campaign. Well, I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans, Independents, for the struggling, striving, the successful – for all those who vote for me and for those who don’t.”
Clinton ended the convention, at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, in a sea of red, white, and blue balloons, with her family and her running mate by her side.
