LOS ANGELES CA (AP) The National League Championship Series resumes tonight in Los Angeles after the Dodgers and Cubs split the first two games in Chicago. Reigning National league Cy Young Award winner Jake Arrieta is getting the ball for the Cubs against Rich Hill. Despite the fact the Cubs had the best record in baseball this season, the Dodgers are very confident. They view this now as a best of five series with three of the games in their park. The Dodgers like the odds as they had a home record this season of 53-28. Two months ago, L.A. took two of three from the Cubs in Dodger Stadium.
But the Cubs have Arrieta on the mound and he has been baseball’s best starting pitcher over the last two seasons, going 40-14 with a 2.39 earned run average over 64 starts. And the good news for Cubs fans is the fact that Arrieta enjoys pitching in Dodger Stadium as he tossed a no-hitter their last season.
