(CHICAGO) Too many bad actors are thumbing their noses at city regulations. For example, in city budget hearings the Business Affairs Commissioner reported two-thirds of valet parkers are not in compliance with regulations.
Downtown Alderman Brendan Reilly (42nd) told her she needs more than 47 inspectors to enforce 50 kinds of city licenses.
“I don’t think you should be forced to have to pick and choose between missions and priorities,” Reilly said. “You should have the resources you need to execute the job. You have an excellent staff. I want to give you more firepower. I think you need it.”
In other news about bad actors, City Hall has fired a Streets and Sanitation laborer for counterfeiting more than $10,000 worth of paychecks and splitting the proceeds with three accomplices.
