(CHICAGO) Mayor Rahm Emanuel is responding to a Tribune story about WikiLeaks that reveal he, like Hillary Clinton, used a personal email account to communicate with government and political leaders.
No smoking guns in these Rahm e-mail messages, and the mayor says he did the right thing in communicating in this way.
“If you look at the four e-mails, in fact, they were actually political work on a private e-mail because if you did it the other way it’d be wrong and you can’t do it,” Emanuel said. “So in fact, exactly like it’s consistent. Look at the e-mails to John Podesta, political work, the same thing with Hillary. So you are consistent with keeping political stuff and private stuff on a private e-mail and I’m consistent with that.”
And unlike Hillary Clinton, Rahm did not use a personal server.
