(CHIC AGO) Two years after the murder of an Oak Park woman in Bali, a Chicago man has pleaded guilty in her death.
The murder story was seen on all the networks. Sheila von Wiese-Mack was beaten to death by Heather Mack and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer, as they vacationed in Indonesia.
Right after their arrest, Shaefer’s cousin, Ryan Bibbs, wrote a text to a friend that admitted his part in the murder. Those texts got him investigated. Bibbs has admitted he advised Tommy Schaefer that if they got rid of his girlfriends’ mother, they could get access to her estate. And he told them to kill her as she slept. The pair did just that, and put the woman’s body in a large suitcase.
They were caught in Indonesia. Today, Bibbs pleaded guilty to aiding his cousin in charges of conspiracy to commit the foreign murder of a US citizen. He will be sentenced on March 23.
Tommy Schaefer and Heather Mack were convicted of murder in Indonesia. Schaefer was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Mack received a 10 year sentence.
