(CHICAGO) A GoFundMe account has been set up for a 14-year-old boy with special needs who died after being pulled from the pool at Kennedy High School in Chicago.
Family members say Rosario Gomez loved school and had hopes of one day becoming a train conductor.
The Chicago Fire Department said the boy was pulled from the pool at Kennedy High School on Wednesday before firefighters arrived. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are now investigating the circumstances of his death.
His family says Rosario was a special needs student at the school who was autistic.
The Go Fund Me Page aims to raise $10,000 to cover funeral expenses. As of Thursday afternoon, the fund already raised more than half of that goal.
